Snake was the first game ever in the record of cell phone games. This game was created in 1970 by Taneli Armanto, who received an award for the same from the MEF (Mobile Entertainment Forum). The game was also named as Classic and was launched by accompany called Gremlin in the year 1976.

The game has only a short snake as the character who keeps on collecting. He has to avoid a clash with the wall. His size keeps on increasing with each collection he used to make. He also has to avoid its overlapping on its own self after an increase in its size. The snake used to move Up, Down, Left and Right with 2, 8, 4 and 6 buttons on the key pad and also with the direction keys. The snake always keeps on moving throughout the game.

Apart from the basic idea as per which the snake used to collect things and increase its size the game has gone through many a changes in its graphics, display etc. like it has changed from black and white to coloured,2D to 3D and many more. The latest interesting add on in the game was the introduction of scoring system in it due to which the game become more interesting and competitive. Gamers from all across the world are after the game to make a record highest score. 

This game was the one who established a ground for other games and is still considered as the most wanted game throughout. The game had a major hand in the development of the mobile phone industry. Nokia was the first company to start this game in phone. The current master of the market in this industry is Jandat. This company was launched somewhere in the year 2000. Co-incidentally the first game of Jamdat was snake only. Therefore we can easily make out the Snake will always be the father of games in the history of games.
